    Fuel Gauge Off?

So I know never to run by the Lie-o-meter in the dash, but the other day I filled up my truck and noticed that my fuel gauge seemed off a little.

I filled up 1/2 way between 1/4 tank and empty (i know.. big no no!), and the DTE read out said 100mi until empty.

I filled up and only put in 26.728 gallons into my truck.

I always thought these trucks come standard with a 34g tank.

So according to this math I should have been closer to 1/4 tank read out right?

Or am i just being overly paranoid? LOL

    Pretty sure it's technically a 30gal tank.

Look in your owner's manual to double check, just going off of memory.

There were only 2 sizes offered, so I think you'd know if you had the larger capacity of the 2 fairly easily.

But around 26gal is about all I ever get in when fairly empty.

    Wouldn't worry about it.

Mine is about 30 gallons. I’ve never had the light come on (maybe is broken) but 28 gallons is about the most I’ve put in mine

You're being paranoid, just enjoy the truck!

You have to account for a few gallons in reserve otherwise when your gauge/lie-o-meter said 0/E you'd run out.

Oh i am enjoying this truck way more than I should.

    If that's possible LOL.

I'll chalk it up to being paranoid.

I have access to a VIN look up for RAM.

So I'll check it by the vin number and see what it says on there.

I guess i should never ASSume anything when it comes to vehicles (and I know better and I work on them LOL.)

The RAM App should show you your window sticker.
