Works great in the cooler temperatures with the 160*F thermostat and gives me the option of going full bypass when heavy towing in warm climates.

As stated above I would also not recommend going full bypass when daily driving in cold climates.

What temps are you seeing with the thermostat installed.

I just installed the thermostat because its getting colder out.

I only drove it maybe 10-15 mi but am only seeing 120° or so.

It's about 25° outside. Does this bypass still warm up slower than stock even with the thermostat installed?

Yes, I have my thermostat installed and seeing about the same.

Between 120 and 130 at around 30* F on short trips around town.

I also have the winter grill cover on.

If I remember correctly this is the same results as with the stock bypass.

I just installed my mishimoto bypass with the thermostat installed and it wouldnt get over 110 over an 8 hour drive with outside temps in the 50's.

Great News & you won't ever have to worry about the OEM valve failing in the closed position and overheating your transmission & a possible failure!

Well I would like it to get up to the 160 that the thermostat is set for in the mishimoto bypass, because it acts like its stuck open and now that we've had some mornings in the 30's it barely hits in the hundreds.

Yes, this does sound to me like your valve is bypassing. I would contact Mishimoto technical support, hopefully they will send you another thermostat assembly. Please keep us posted.

    Re: Thermal Bypass

I chose to delete my babblings due to I have the ATS - not the mishimoto bypass...

Just for reference this is what I am seeing with my Mishimoto thermostat installed after approximately 25 minutes of city stop and go driving at 23*F.

Keep in mind I do have the winter grill cover installed.

Edit: I don’t know how much difference in temperature to expect between my Aisin and the 68RFE.

So they had already sent me a new thermostat piece of it and it didn't change anything.

They also sent me a whole new assembly and its been in the 30's here without putting the front cover on yet and it didnt get over 100* in stop and go traffic for a little over a half hour.

I am going to put the stock one back in and see what happens.
