Some of these responses sound like stuff from 20+ years ago when Dodge make the decision to put Cummins engines in their trucks! I believe Nissan will be up to the task. Improvements will be made to their current trucks to handle the additional towing loads that people will put on them with this new motor. I just don't think it will take as long as it did Dodge to do upgrades. How long did it take Dodge to bring their brakes up to their competitors? Or, how long did it take them to build a real crew cap truck with the Diesel engine? Now I understand what was going on a few months ago when I spotted a Nissan in Tempe, AZ with a large gooseneck trailer and a couple of escort trucks rolling down the road. And, think of all the new forum members there will be as they will have Cummins motors also! The main issues will be the Nissan Mechanics getting up to speed on this new engine. I remember being at the local Cummins shop years ago when a service advisor from a Dodge dealer called and said that putting a Cummins motor was the worst thing that Dodge ever did. So, there will be some who don't thing this is a good idea, time will tell. At least Nissan doesn't have to worry about changing hands and their economic outlook like Chrysler did.
