Hey y'all,

I just recently got a VE pump rebuild from Industrial Injection and did a little bit of extra work to my 89 D250 while I was at it and now she won't start.

Fuel is bled all the way to the injectors, battery is fully charged, and after about 20 tries I had one or two cylinders fire (it shot some smoke out).

Work that was done: valve lash set to 0.010 for intake and 0.020 for exhaust, VE pump rebuilt, new tappet cover, new turbo, timing checked for injection pump during install, new fuel filter (checked to make sure there wasn't any water in the fuel once it didn't want to start by draining the filter into a clear bottle).

Any ideas?

I have a diesel mechanic buddy coming over to help tomorrow but I just can't think of anything else that would be wrong.

Maybe the VE timing?

Anybody have insight onto that to make sure I did it right?

Also the starter seems to kind of give out on each crank, not like its dying, it just sorta stops.
