    Where's My Turbo?

    2013 6.7L.

Can anyone help with why the turbo is not engaging while driving?

I know that it has not failed like it did 3 years ago because the exhaust brake works like a champ.

I am doing the 200 mile relearn for a Revmax transmission.

I have the DRD tune for the trans on the MM3 and I can watch all the gauges.

Yesterday I had boost pressure registering and today just zeros.

I suspect that this is an issue with the ECM not maintaining the entire tune in its little brain.

I had ECM and tune compatibility issues in the past and replaced the old tuner and file with the new tuner and file.

Before I go off and rewrite the tune to the ECM I would like some input please.

Also will a reflash cause me to restart the relearn process on the trans?

Do you have no power/boost at all when you accelerate?

Have you checked if it has thrown any codes?

    Re: Where's My Turbo?

Tumbleweed1969 no boost and only 30% throttle for relearning so I haven't let it rip.

Codes P007B, P007D, P0108, U0212 none of which scream boost.

I had to go through the post comments to find this..quick reply or reply with quote is much easier in the future.

However, these codes literally are tied to your charge air cooling system, MAP sensor, and a CAN bus communication failure with your steering column (what?)

The fact that you have codes tied directly to your intake system & boost says your truck is dumping all boost pressure in self-preservation mode.

Address these codes first and see if you don't regain boost.

    Re: Where's My Turbo?

    Got it.

The air intake had a failure with the motor moving the gate open and closed.

It caused the fuse to blow and left me with no power on a hill on I 40 in New Mexico.

I unplugged the harness to the motor and it seemed to solve the immediate issue.

Clearly that is now part of the larger picture.

I looked at the potential for getting a new actuator and that seems like a futile effort.

I have thought about a cold air intake that would bypass the issue altogether.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think your active air system is any part of the problem with your current situation. I think you have other underlying issues with the truck that are causing what you are experiencing. MAP sensor failure by itself will throw the truck in a form of limp mode.

I'd suggest starting with the MAP sensor, then go through all of your charge piping and make sure you don't have any blown boots, loose couplers, broken/loose/missing clamps, etc. From there, we can start looking at other related items that may be the issue.

It doesn't seem mechanical since it worked one day and then not the next.

1 wrong part and 2 weeks later the new MAP sensor is installed and there is no boost still. I checked all the charge piping connections and found no issues. I get codes P007D Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit High and P0108 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit High.

I have this feeling that there is a corrupted line of code in the tune and that it will need a re-flash and another re-learn.
