MM3 Tuner - Blinking Red and Green Lights

So I have been running the DRD tunes the last couple days and freakin love it, but this morning I went to start up and the MM3 just wouldn’t turn on and blinking red and green.

I saw where people said to unplug and plug back in the OB2 port which worked but should that happen after two days?

Also I live down south where it gets pretty warm so was thinking maybe sitting in the window all day had some effect on it?

If that’s the case plugging it in and all every time I start up seems like it would eventually cause damage to the USB plug port.

Just seen that happen plenty with other stuff.

    Thanks guys!

How old are your batteries? My RaceMe Ultra was doing that. I always unplugged from the OBDI port, not the fragile mini-USB port on the back of the unit. Any, new batteries cured it for me. Needed a jump start in a campground. Put in new batteries, and hasn’t done it since.

Could be a battery issue. Charge them and Have them load tested separately.

Yeah I could do that but everything else seems to be working fine and they both are holding charge.

I feel like I would see a battery issue somewhere else.

I’ve seen it posted before and like I said unplugging and plugging back from OB2 port worked but was curious if the heat would maybe cause that it’s hot as hades down here this time of year LOL.

Our trucks are very power hungry and the slightest drop in voltage will screw things up including the MM3.

Heat could be a factor but I’ve had my MM3 sitting in my truck and being 95 outside with no issues however my MM3 did what yours is doing when my battery’s where slightly weak.

Cummins have always been touchy on proper volts.

The new trucks are really sensitive and will cause electrical gremlins.

My OBD port plug can loosen up in one day.

When I drive 40 miles on gravel or vibrations.

I purposely every few weeks now will pull it and push back in when truck is off.

You can get a super think zip tie and put it around the plug.

Now check your factory port. they can be re-positioned a little bit. some get put together and they are in a bung and the top leading edge of the MM3 will rub against it fits but may be just enough to vibrate out.

Crap... just saw you said USB port. that is a port that can vibrate loose.

You can find a 90 degree mini USB connector. also depending on how you have the cord running to the back.

If that cord has a bind or not slack.

If you have some silicone you can just add a dab of it on the back to help.

Well I will def check that out.

Same here I’m in SC the summers ain’t no joke in a vehicle I just wanted to make sure sitting in that window ( although most times I try to put a shade up and will cut one to fit around the MM3) wasn’t causing issues.

Thanks @DRD for reinvigorating the love for the truck.

The dang this thing is awesome!

I had the blinky light issue with my MM3 for on and off for several months on my 2012.

    Truck always started up fine.

    New batteries fixed it.

I have been having the same issue lately.

The batteries are 3 years old from the factory and I have been waiting for them to go at anytime.

Maybe I should look at replacing them.
