    New Member Couple Q’s

    Hi everyone, new member.

I have a 2016 G56 tuned by DRD. I have a couple questions I’ve struggled to find great answers to.

I found an intake I like but it says it only fits 07.5-12 trucks.

    I don’t see a difference in why I couldn’t run it on my 16.

    Anyone done this?

Also my VGT sticks every day about halfway to work but runs fine when I get off shift till about half way home, is there any type of cleaning I can do without taking the turbo apart to extend the life of the charger?

    Thank you.

    Welcome!!

Mfg's typically put the model year limits for good reason but go ahead and post a link to the CAI you are considering to get better advice on how well it would work on your truck.

As for the turbo, are you getting any codes when the VGT locks up? There is a cleaning procedure for sooted up turbo vanes but if it's already locking up it's probably too late. Might be the actuator too, in which case several guys on here have had good luck with the replacements from City Diesel.

I’ll have to go back and find it.

yes I get the loss of communication code, along with the performance code. Just kills me that I’m gonna have to pay for this at 73k miles. Bought the truck with 65k on it.

    thanks.

Yeah, I feel for you man.

Dropping money for repairs so quick after purchase stinks.

Power is correct, it's probably too late. If you're getting a loss of comm. code then I'd say it's time. We're 1 of 2 City Diesel dealers and it'd be the only actuator I'd use if it were my truck.
