I just rolled 123k mi in my stock ‘16 CTD and I noticed a clicking sound from the engine compartment.
It sounds comparable to an exhaust leak.
From doing some research I think it’s probably the water pump and while I’m at it I’ll replace the belt and tensioner.
I figure the water pump bearing or pulley or whatever is bad.
Any thoughts?
Already had the water pump replaced once from the recall.
On another note while doing 12 hours of highway driving the past two days I noticed when cruising around 75 mph and going to accelerate the truck shutters when pushing onto the throttle.
If I give it too much throttle the truck will down shift and not shutter.
That’s why I think it’s a sixth gear problem.
The truck is a daily driver and I only pull our boat that’s about 7k lbs and I just pulled our wood package for our deck that with trailer was about 15k lbs without issue.
Any input would be appreciated.
I really don’t want to take it to the dealer.
