Took the passenger wheel well off for easier access to exhaust manifold.
Any input on where exactly to drill/tap?

I would try and get it right on where the collection area enters the turbo. This is the most accurate place IMO. If you need a flatter spot then I would error toward the left in your pic/back nearer cylinder 6

Years ago on my 2007 6.7L I drilled and tapped with the engine running so as to blow out any metal chips rather than take the chance of any chips falling into the turbo.
I used the grease as well.
It worked for me.
Nice job on your install.
What size drill bits did you use prior to the final one?
I am planning on doing this, this weekend.
