Need To Replace My Drag Link

Thanks to an error in judgement during the manufacturing process there are way to many of our 2500 and 3500 trucks driving the streets with a potential drag link issue.

The jam nuts move away from the shuttle and can cause loss of control.

There is a safety recall that has been released for this safety concern.

However the Recall V06 in my opinion is not a repair but a mistake.

As a certified Chrysler tech I perform this recall at least once a week at the dealership I work for.

After verifying that your jam nuts torque to the shuttle correctly and the threads on the drag link are not damaged, I perform the part of the recall that leads me to asking for advice.

I weld the jam nuts to the shuttle, the performance of the welds renders alignments impossible without replacement of the entire drag link.

I have had this recall performed on my truck and the steering wheel is no longer straight as well I noticed the other day my truck pulling to the right and the toe set on my tires is off causing unneeded inner edge wear.

Does anyone have or use a after market drag link setup that they prefer over the factory?

My truck is still currently stock and would rather not have to spend extra money at this time to replace my drag link with a much better setup.

Lift kit and suspension upgrades are planned for the future.

    Thank you all in advance.

The Synergy Drag Link is hands down on of the best drag links that you can buy for these trucks.

We sell a ton of them and will be what goes on my 2018 once I put a few more miles on it.

    I'll shoot you a PM.

Is there enough adjustment on the Synergy that I will be able to put a 2.5 level kit and still be able to use the Synergy?

I have the Synergy drag link and i am leveled 2.5 inches.

Works like a champ at that height.

Yes, my truck has a 2.5" leveling kit and everything works perfect.

Im grinding off the tac welds that they put on. I will get my alignment done. I will be just putting safety wire wrapped from nut to nut. they wont come loose. if you really need something now you can look for a 2019 drag link. its a different design and it will fit.

As stated above synergy makes and awesome product. I got it and a carli track bar and am very happy with both. Next up is a re-gear then a carli pintop 3.25" suspension system. Fun never stops

Re: Need To Replace My Drag Link

    Greetings @Chrylser Tech

The day I got the drag link recall notice in the mail I ordered a Synergy HD drag link.

The UPS guy dropped it off a couple days later and I installed it in about an hour.

I did similar with the water pump recall... Soon as I got the notice I called Geno's and had them send me a Gates Pump.

    No surprises. In and done!

As for the Synergy drag link, here are a few pictures of it next to the OEM link. . .

OEM is the top, Synergy under it.

It's been in service for about a year now. No issues at all.

Re: Need To Replace My Drag Link

One of my jam nuts were finger loose last week so I ordered the Synergy and put it on today.

The steering feels so much tighter, highly recommend them.

PM me if anyone would like to order one.
