So I just did ARP head studs on my 3rd Gen 6.7L.
There is a little rust on the balancer, so I can’t see the TDC mark.
How else can I find it??

Check to see if cylinder 1 intake and exhaust are loose.
If they are then start working on it

So update I got the lash done, I think...now it appears to be missing and blowing white smoke...ran fine before head studs and I went one at a time, so I’d assume hg is fine
Hmm... check the valve lash again as they may be a little off.
Do you see any bubbling of the coolant tank?

I don’t see any bubbling, no...will redo the lash today, first time I’ve ever done that. Thanks for the help/advice
Also, here is a lesson for everyone else, watch what you are crawling on in the engine bay.
I snapped off my exhaust back pressure sensor.
Don’t think that would be the cause though.
I don’t know what the symptoms are, but on the 07.5-12 model trucks, the exhaust back pressure must stay plugged in and operate correctly.

Embarrassingly, I think I was 360 off on my valve lash.
Working great now, even with that back pressure sensor snapped in 2.
I am fully deleted with a tuner, so that may be dead anyway no codes popping!
Thanks all
