    Hello

New to the Cummins world, looking to delete but the 68RFE is my only concern. How long would the 68 last?

Hello and welcome. There is no way to know for certain on how long it'll last. Maintenance and not abusing it will go a long way.

    &

I agree whole heartedly with Joe...
Proper Maintenance (According with your driving style & habits) with the proper ATF & Driving her like a true civilized human being...

If towing med/heavy is required & often? --->Educate yourself on the proper operation of Tow Haul mode & locking out 6th gear...

I'll be honest - I have started just recently driving in Tow Haul 24/7...
I like the mannerisms of my 68RFE much more - No more 3rd to 4th gear (WTH was they thinking) change! Flippin Ridiculous why FCA engineers would allow this type of operation!

I will go out on a limb here and confess: I have always been a Ford loyal guy - I had a co-worker show up at my house the other day with his new 2020 F250 4WD (RV tow rig)...
It come with a small lift and nice low profile meaty tires and nice pretty wide shiny wheels... Well to get to my point - I drove the truck for around 27 miles - in town and highway!

I really really like Fords new ----> 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission...
I know it has a few quicks yet Ford has to correct - but the shifts are spot on & silky smooth.
