SO, how is stock a month later?

This wouldn't have anything to do with microprocessor chip shortages?

What do you know about the other actuators, like the one circuit board medics are selling?

There's still no stock, and we currently have 40 or so prepaid orders waiting.

Yes, it does have to do with circuit boards are causing the shortage right now.

I have seen every other actuator so far, more or less just a stock OEM replacement with nothing upgraded.

Re: CITY DIESEL | 07.5-18 6.7 CUMMINS UPGRADED BILLET TURBO ACTUATOR

DDP, I added one of these with your aftermarket turbo back in January, and my initial feeling was incredible.

I had a turbo boost I'd never seen on my truck in the three years I've owned it.

Now I have gotten a few codes, and the truck seems down on power. The last code at startup after leaving a store was a P226C. I previously had codes that I'm not sure of, but I dismissed them because they always happen on cold startups as I have 360k miles, and I think there may be an issue with the intake heater.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I am at the point where I need an oil change and fuel filters as that might make a difference too.

Also, my initial impression of the exhaust brake on this turbo is poor. The stock one worked well.

I've been waiting to communicate the information as I haven't towed anything heavy.

I see that it kicks off at like 25 mph or 20, maybe? In tow-haul?

I guess this has to do with the lock-up of the Torque Converter.

Our Fire Trucks in the city have Cummins, and we made the builder set the exhaust brake to stay on to the lowest possible speed as an exhaust brake that kicks off at, say, 15-20 mph when you are driving in a city where the maximum speed is 30 mph is foolish.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Sorry about this; I just saw it!

So City Diesel and I have both talked about the poor exhaust brake.

I have been getting a lot of customers that replace the turbo actuator calling in and stating that they don't feel the power of the exhaust brake like the old oem.

The way city diesel explained it, in short, was that it's an entirely different unit and circuit board.

It will act differently than the OEM, and he showed me a spot in the owner's manual where it states that the exhaust brake may not perform the same at all times.

I'm not sure how the oem feels the same throughout, and then when a city diesel actuator gets put in its place, it acts a little differently.

Try towing with it and see how it does.

The actuator is tricky and a lot more in-depth than meets the eye!

If you didn't mind sending us an email to sales@ddpmotorsports.com and letting me know the codes, that would be great!

I know some trucks from 2014-2015 are stupid picky; if it sees even a bit more airflow through it, it will throw a boost/overboost code.

Anyway, shoot me an email, and we can go from there!

    Thanks for the reply.

This is the first time I have looked at this since posting.

I will be towing a short distance in a week and will do it with fresh motor oil.

My problem (sort of a blessing with $6 diesel) is that I only drive about 3 miles to work.

Not great for the engine, but great for the wallet. Some days it seems powerful, and some days it won't get out of its way.

Sometimes I will turn on the exhaust brake with the tow/haul mode, and it seems not too bad, but at other times it seems not to be effective.

I will see how it tows.

I'll try to get back to you in two weeks or so.

I'm not getting codes now that it's warmer outside.

    Thanks
