    Sticky VGT Vanes?

    New day, New issue.

So, while driving with the exhaust brake and tow/haul off, every 18- 20 seconds I'm hearing a noise that sounds like the exhaust brake and it lasts for 2-3 seconds and then goes away. This cycle has continued for the last 2 hours.

It doesn't matter if I'm going up hill or down hill. I tried turning on full exhaust brake and tow haul while deaccelerating hard a few times.

I tried turning off and on the tow/haul and exhaust brake but it's not changing this status.

Also, stopped and turned engine off for a few minutes to no avail.

Nothing showing up on the exhaust/turbo guage.

    Any thoughts?

Sounds like the actuator is going bad.

So, after some experimenting, I found that it's only doing it over 70mph. Under 70mph and it's not doing it.

You might possibly have a small exhaust leak causing the sound.
