Awesome work! Most people would have just done a cheesy repair and sent it down the road. You are doing all of this the right way knowing you are selling it. Good for you sir! Looking forward to the finished product. I am trying to learn TIG welding now, and soon will be trying some body repairs myself on my old Jeep. Keep up the good work!

I want to get this thing done. I'm bringing my 62 New Yorker home so I can get some stuff done on that. I'll be selling the truck, maybe this fall. Whoever gets is will have a really good truck

If you're considering lap weld did u ever consider using panel bond instead of welding?

No wARP age and the panel bond will seal the joint up.

I've never used it but my buddy does restorations and collision repair.

We are going to use the panel bond inside on a couple seams that aren't accessible on the rear quarters on my 69 Chevelle.

He said a lot of new cars are panel bonded not welded from the factory.

Look at 3M 08115 panel bond.

I dunno if you have been keeping up.

I forgot to tell you I'm using "Heat Fence" on the panel.

It's a paste you liberally smear around the weld area to prevent wARPage.

    Stuff works pretty good.

Since my mig is busted, I'll have to tig which will keep wARPing down too.

So far, I don't see any. I don't trust these welds because I've been having penetration issues.

    Can't set the mig right.

The wire speed pot went bad.

The worst conditions you could ask for and a bunch of shARP pains shooting out of my back, Caused me to flinch with the spray gun. Hot, Humid, windy (5MPH).

Took this pic right after I put the last coat on.

It's tightening up, but still has a few spots that need attention, not to mention the dirt the wind blew on it. It was like working in a wind tunnel

@AnOldBiker JIM! Come out here and clean up for me.

    My back is done.

I had to force myself to get this painted.

Taking a day off to recover.

All I have left is to paint the fender flair and install it.

Then I'll get @F350Cummins to put the wheel back on.
