    EFI Live Help

Hey guys, new to this forum.

Very basic knowledge on diesel trucks as well.

    So go easy on me.

    Anyways I just purchased a 2008 2500 6.7L.

Guy said owner before him did the DPF delete, and tuned through EFI Live.

But doesn't have the 5 position switch.

    I purchased the switch tonight.

The guy I bought it from says all he knows it is on level 5.

I don't always want to be on that.

Will the switch solve my issues?

Also is there anyway I can check what tunes are loaded?

    Any info will help me!

    Thanks in advanced!

The switch should let you switch the tunes, but without an Autocal you can't check the tunes loaded.

Unless you know who tuned the truck you will not be able to tell what kind of tuning you have as the tuners always lock their files.

If you got the switch, you would be able try and feel the switching of the tunes while driving which would confirm you do have SOTF tuning.

Most of the time people in this situation either leave it like it is or just get a different set of tunes for the autocal along with the VIN license so they know exactly what they have.

You can definitely try the switch first though as it's a cheap way to test it out.

If the truck was flashed with SOTF tunes then yes the switch "would" fix your issue but, if it only has a single tune on it then it would not.

Contact the previous owner and tell him/her that they should have included the autocal with the sale. If they dont have it, find out who did the tuning and contact them. They should be able to look up the info with vin or previous owners info.

    Re: EFI Live Help

Typically without a switch EFI tunes default to near stock, not the “hot” sequenced 1-5.

There are a few tuners that do setup sotf 5-1 but it is not typical.

Makes me think the prior owner had a couple of single tunes on an autocal and loaded one at a time.

Does the truck have an egt gauge?

If not might want to keep your foot out of it until you have the tune sorted out.

    Re: EFI Live Help

Hey there, I new to the whole diesel world, but I purchased a 2020 2500.

I went with EFI live and got a full delete with an S&B intake and FASS 165.

When I got the tune, I had to list the mods.

I have on the truck, so I listed the stuff above.

I got the exhaust and EGR delete done over the weekend.

The intake is on backorder, and I didn’t have time for the FASS, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to drive it.

When driving at around 35-45 mph, I’m getting a “fuel surge.”

I have a monitor, and the fuel rail pressure is fluctuating about 500-1000psi, and the boost gauge is constantly going up and down at about a quarter throttle, around half to full throttle. It is fine.

I’m also getting a P2281, which says an air leak between the MAF and throttle body.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

I guess the fuel issue is that I have a tune for a FASS 165 and an S&B intake that I haven’t installed yet.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. TIA
