    Shocks

It's time for new shocks, at least on the rear.

    Anyone tried air shocks?

Looking for a small amount of adjustment, without ruining the ride.

No problems with the tires or traction.

I'm looking to take the rocking out of the bed area. 2000lbs in the bed all the time, center of gravity is a bit high.

I had right rite airbags on my last truck, they were awesome.

    They recommended filling them individually.

I linked them together with a hose and single fill stem instead.

Basically an adjustable sway bar on steroids.

If the same would work with airshocks, that would solve 2 problems at once.

Given it lots of thought. Everyone seems to love the Bilstein 5100’s. Plan to put those all the way around. Cheapo eBay 2” lift for the front, air bags the rear. Just want the truck to ride better, stop rocking at high speeds & sit closer to level. Waiting on shipping now, the front shocks are factory back ordered

Beware of hooking them together. I've heard a couple times that this could actually make rocking worse. The air will shift to the inside when the outside gets compressed when cornering making it tip even worse. No experience with it, just what I've read.

Bags installed today. Ran them separately, two fill stems on the drop hitch. Going to get 2 tees and a ball valve. 1/4” compression, cheap and easy upgrade. It would allow even fill with the valve open, then the option to run them together or separately.

To my surprise, it takes very little air pressure, the set the truck level. 5 to 10 psi, to raise the rear 3/4”

I plan to do the tee’s and ball valve tomorrow. Still waiting on shocks to arrive. You can see my 2 valve stems on the hitch and the bags. Work in progress. Also pics of dropping the diff. Need 2 jacks and 2 jack stands. Wasn’t bad. Also need to zip tie lines out of the way.

    Re: Shocks

I have a friend who is very mechanically skilled & talented & always thinks outside the box like crazy - we kinda feed off each other but - I'm like Tim the Tool Man Taylor!

Anyway he installed his rear air bags with stainless steel line instead of the plastic hose that comes with the kits! I think he did have 6" of braided hose on each connection to allow for flex...
I might offer him a few cold beers and supper if he will supervise me doing mine...

Thank you for taking the time to post the pics!
