Oil Analysis - RAM Cummins Engines?

Does anyone know the best place to send a sample of my oil for analysis?

Changed out all my fluids to Schaeffers today, everything looked pretty good except for the oil which looked pretty gnarly.

Since I don't know much about the trucks history I want to send in a sample of the oil that came in the truck for analysis but it looks like there is nobody local and there are too many options online for a noon to narrow down.

Has anyone done this and had good luck with any specific companies?

Send an email, do it on the webpage or call for the sample bottle, they're free.

    I swear by these people.

I've researched this in the past. Test Oil out of Ohio seems like one of the best.

There seemed to be some complaints of inaccuracies of fuel dilution with Blackstone.

I use oil analyzers through Amsoil, which apparently is Polaris Labs.

    For $30 TBN is included.

Not sure of Test Oil, never used them, but I'm sure of BlackStone.

Before I retired from an oil refinery, I was using the inner refinery lad.

Two samples before I retired, I used the refinery lab and BlackStone to see what would happen.

    They were the same results.

Now if they were different, I would have tried others.

So I know they are good.

To late for me to compare
Test Oil with the refinery lab.

I am sending engine oil and G56 trans oil to Blackstone in the morning.

About 59k on the trans fluid.

Less than 1k on engine oil.

    Alot of companies out there!

I have spent years over @ BITOG - researching UOA/VOA labs & so many make simple mistakes with samples - mainly getting samples mixed up with others and sending the wrong UOA or VOA sample to the customer. (Very Frustrating)!

    Blackstone and Polaris are decent!

Just my simple-minded - Honest Opinion!

Remember: It takes many UOA to develop a Trend, even to judge an Engine Oil, Gear Oil, or Transmission Fluid performance.

I have read many lab analyses - stating it takes an HD diesel engine 80K - 100K miles to settle in & begin to give accurate results - all depending on the HDEO formulation & owner's driving style & habits.

Also, the Equipment needs to be in good health to give truthful results.

    Oil: -SHELL- Rotella T6 5W-40 & T5 15W-40 combo w/LF16035
68RFE/BW44-46/Power Steering: -Red Line- C+ ATF
Frontend & Rearend: -Red Line- SAE GL-5 75W-90NS
