    Mishimoto Thermal Bypass Valve

    I installed a Mishimoto Thermal Bypass Valve today.

    The install was simple, quick, and easy with less than half a cup of transmission fluid loss.

    I choose this brand because it gives me the option of having the thermostat installed or removed.

    Living in Alaska I can run with the thermostat during the winter months then when towing in the warmer states I can easily switch to the bypass.

    Congrats on your install... Very smart choice for your situation...

    I know just from dropping my atf temps to now barely ever reaching 160°F - I took a ton of stress off of the fluid - which will extend the over all service life of the ATF...

    In my life time - I have Never heard about or Read about a transmission failure due to running much lower ATF temps.

    Most of us know Heat is a major contributor to transmission issues/deaths!
    Honestly I feel it's a no-brainer mod for those who tow often & who don't live in a climate like Bob...

    I just ordered my Mishimoto bypass.

    I'm excited to get it in and see what the difference is as far as overall temperature and warm up times with and without the thermostat installed

    I didn't want just fully delete the thermostat because oftentimes we wind up in MN for a week or two in the winter, so the new Mishimoto was the best solution in my case.
