I wish someone will hurry the fck up and produce that tuner with maps so I could back up my current ECU file, then then could flash whatever update they want.
Or cancel my extended warranty and go ahead and delete all the crap and take my business to the local diesel shops to work on the motor
It’s coming.
Just have to be patient.
The coronavirus slowed down a lot of progress.

I read this thread but no one has said anything about .
For those that get this notice or go in for service.
If you are deleted what does this flash do?
Will the owner still get the flash?
Affect the deleted tune?
Need to reload deleted tune after service.
I have a apt set in 2 days for dealership to look at why my middle front drop seat shakes and squeaks when I drive over 50mph.
It goes away if I have my arm holding it.
The sound comes from the seat back swivel area.

According to my service writer, there is no reason to worry if the truck is tuned. I asked if the reflash would require a transmission relearn, he said no.
I would plan to reload your tune following the recall regardless though just for good measure.
If this were any other dealer flash, I'd recommend asking your writer to note "NO FLASHES" on the RO.

Gonna bump it up!
I'l be finally flying home after being stuck at work overseas for 5 months, so may have to deal with this recall thing.
Please report here if you have the recall done and how the truck feels after the recall.
FWIW @Shurup . . .
I'm no mechanic but my 2016 3500 Longhorn with all its recalls and problems has never been to an FCA dealership once!
All recalls and repairs are done by 'me' and trust me, I get no joy out of swinging a wrench or spending good money on top of bad.
If however I did have a large catastrophic failure (like say it swallowed a grid heater bolt and needed an engine rebuild) and I had no choice but to have the dealer do the repair under warranty, I would put the truck up for sale immediately after the dealership got done with it.
The funny part of all this is that shortly thereafter some poor guy would be on a forum just like this one bragging about the absolutely pristine low mileage 2016 Longhorn he just bought (i.e. my old truck), but now was having all sorts of annoying ticks & knocks & leaks that the dealership says are normal, or "they all do that".
This $70,000 truck of mine is the first Fiat I have ever owned and it has been an adventure. Fortunately for me the Mexicans that built it did a good job. All things considered, the build quality on this thing is outstanding!
The Tupy engine with it's assortment of low-bid Chinese servos, sensors, and bearings, coupled with the addition of a "not ready for prime time" emissions system is a tad worrisome, but I enjoy the challenge.
Good luck at the dealer service dept @Shurup.
I'm sure you'll be fine.
As for me... a mere 20,000 miles and it still runs like a clock.

Sorry for being a double posting fool, but this is my absolute favorite topic.
Almost as much fun as a GRVW/payload thread in an RF forum!

Been home for a bit after my last post but never took it to the dealer.
There is a whole mile long topic on another forum re: Diesel Calibration recall, and there's just as long a list of pissed off owners.
Very few are happy with their truck after said recall, so screw that, not letting them touch it.
Not until I get a tuner so I can fix it back after they screw it up with their recall.
I've just decided to avoid dealerships when feasible.
I have had mostly horrible experiences when dealing with the dealerships, and to be completely honest.
I trust my mechanic skills more than their "certified" techs, but now that my truck has had some parts fall off don't see myself going back anytime soon.
