    WTB: Clutch For G56 Trans

Looking for pricing on a clutch for my 2018 Ram 2500.

Which one is better Valair or South Bend?

Currently running tuner at 30hp and the stock clutch can barely handle that.

Planning on a 600hp to 650hp daily driver.

    Thanks!

    Both are great clutches.

I have a dual disk South Bend SDD3250-GK in mine and it's been great.

    WTB: Clutch For G56 Trans

Hey guys, been doing a lot of reading on a replacement clutch.

Much like Bud2723, I’m slipping just trying to pass in 5th and 6th, not to mention having to baby it off the line at lights.

I have a RaceME tuner, S&B intake and dual 5” TBE.

I don’t plan to go crazy on the mods because quite frankly my budget can’t handle it.

I have a 42’ 5th toy hauler we pull a few times a year but other than that it’s just empty highway driving.

Does anyone have any complaints about switching to a single mass flywheel from the dual mass?

I’ve read there is some noticeable chatter in neutral when you convert over and just looking for opinions.

    Thanks

A SMF dual disk does chatter more sitting in neutral.

There is a floater plate between the two disks that makes the extra noise.

There are "quiet" designs, but they still make a little noise.

A SMF single shouldn't make much more noise in neutral than its DMF brother.

Also with a SMF, when lugging it below 1,600ish rpm, you hear gear rollover from the trans (kinda sounds like rocks in a can).

Nature of the beast though. It's a trade off for a more stout flywheel that can handle more power and towing abuse.

Have you had to change yours yet?

I’m only at 106k but I guess that’s about average.
