    Angry 2012 3500 Megacab Dually P2262 Code But EB Appears To Still Work

    New to the forum.

    Here is my issue.

    2012 3500 Megacab Dually with an H&S Tuner (No custom tunes)

    5" straight pipe fully deleted.

    P2262 code pops up.

    A lot at highway speeds when giving throttle.

    The trucks falls flat on its face as if the EB is engaged, but is not.

    Check engine light comes on.

    No throttle responds until the truck speed drops down from 65+mph to 35/40 mph then able to accelerate.

    Weirdest crap ever.

    The engine light stays on EB and still works.

    I'm puzzled and basically I'm wondering do I have a bad turbo or not?

    Maybe its the tuner?

    This is my first diesel truck and love it, but don't want to do any damage to the engine continuing driving.

    Its having the issues stated more regularly and seems like I'm losing power.

    I Replaced map senors, Maf Sensors and etc..

    This code could indicate an intermittent turbo actuator electrical connection or VGT actuator drive gear broken or damaged.

    If these are okay then it could be the turbo charger sector gear is damaged or the sector gear lever does not move smoothly between stops due to soot buildup.

    Welcome friend. Sounds like your turbo actuator maybe going south?

    Have you checked all the electrical connections?

    How many miles are on the truck?

    97k miles I've checked connections and I did noticed corrosion on one of the stabs on the male turbo actuator connector.

    Cleaned it up same issue still.

    Its to the point you can't daily drive it now even at low mph.

    I try to throttle and pass in traffic turbo dies truck falls flat on its face.

    Just the EB engaged.

    Then I have to wait til that episode is over for about a minute or two before I can throttle again.

    Kind of dangerous on the highway if hauling. again thanks for your input waterboy.

    You may want to consider this option if you first rule out any turbocharger damage, actuator gear box damage or sticking veins.

    This replacement actuator is better than the original and does not require calibration.

    Most likely as @AK Bob already stated, your turbo isn't healthy but who knows, I've seen crazier things happen. It's a very common problem on the earlier 6.7 Cummins. You have a few options with this if it's the turbo and are as follows:
    1. Take a chance on a used or junkyard turbo=$-$$
    2. Buy a new actuator & hope the rest of the turbo is healthy(I recommend the one from Geno's Garage as Bob already pointed out because you don't have to calibrate it)=$$
    3. Buy a rebuilt factory turbo=$$$
    4. Buy a new factory turbo=$$$$
    5. Buy an aftermarket VGT turbo=$$$
    6. Buy an aftermarket non-VGT turbo(you'll lose your EB) and upgrade your tuning to support the non-VGT turbo=$$$$
    7. Buy an aftermarket non-VGT turbo, buy an aftermarket exhaust brake and upgrade your tuning=$$$$$

    My $ symbols are just to give an idea of what to expect in comparison to each option. How long have you had the H&S on it?
