    Re: Anyone Ever Used Sulastic?

    Greetings @Whitewolf,

    Glad you brought that up.

I haul a 3700-pound slide-in camper and frequently go back & forth from loaded at max capacity to empty.

If I did NOT have airbags on my truck, I would have spent the $442.50 and tried a set of Sulastic myself , but IMHO, the only way the Sulastic would work is on a 'naked' axle.

Since I have other suspension modifications that would render Sulastic ineffective, the cure to my rough-ride when empty is a set of tire deflators pre-set to 40 PSI.

On my SRW 3500, I run 80 psi when loaded and 40 when unloaded. Doing that softens the ride despite after-market booster springs, airbags, overload leafs, etc...

Granted, pumping the rear tires back up to 80 PSI every time the camper goes back on the truck is a royal PITA, but that's the price for a soft ride in an empty 3500 that has anything other than a naked rear axle.

    Thoughts, comments, questions?

And thanks again for starting this Sulastic thread;: cheers:

I had them on a previous truck, and the ride was a bit softer.

On this truck, I am not planning to install them.

Sorry, I forgot about this post.

Since then, I've ordered a '21 with bags.

Now, whether I take delivery of that '21 is another story.

    Lots of unanswered questions.
