    EGT Probe Install?

I know most that have installed their EGT probe have put it in the back block off plate of their EGR delete.

But has anyone installed theirs with the EGR in place?

If so...where did you drill your hole?

Pictures would be an added bonus.

    Thank you!

    Stay safe.

Mine was installed in the exhaust manifold neck before it attached to the turbo.

I had a mechanic friend drill and tap it for me.

Work was done years ago but I'll see if I can dig up a pic.

That is were mine is currently.

Just drilled and tapped the hole.

Mine was a 1/8 NPT if I remember correctly.

EGR cooler is still installed on mine for now.

    I didn’t.

I’m sure you’ve found the same thing I did.

On the 19+ trucks, they’ve changed the exhaust, and there is no room between the turbo and the exhaust manifold to get a drill in there.

    I tried!

I bought an EGR delete kit with the probe bung for the back block off plate. (I haven’t installed it yet).

My truck isn’t a daily driver; it gets put in winter storage for 6 months.

I just got it out two weeks ago.

    Thank you for the reply.

I have looked under my hood about six times.

Also, removing the wheel well liner would do nothing because of the turbo placement on the 19+.

I don't want to delete my EGR currently.

It looks like I could put it between cylinders on the horizontal.

I know not as accurate as getting the 5 and 6 cylinders.

    Decisions Decisions.

Have you pulled the wheel liner to verify or not?
