2103 RAM 3500 Exhaust Valve Seat Dropped

I have no idea why this happened, but it sure devoured the piston and chewed in cylinder wall.

Is something I can do to prevent this in the future?

Is it a cab and chassis?

I hear they had bad heads.

The heads from a pickup are better.

    Sorry I haven't posted back.

Never knew anyone had posted. I'm still pretty new at this.

Yes its a cab an chassis and it's deleted and tuned. That's bout all I know about it.

I bought it from a young dude in nearby town.

I have read the same thing bout bad valve seats.

I've got it all tore apart head of course is junk and the block scored pretty good and piston looks like it was hit with a bomb....LOL

Now I'm trying to decide reman or try and rebuild it.

As bad as that cylinder wall looks I'm thinking reman, but I'm not sure.

    I need guidance.

Cab & Chassis are prone to this, you can throw a pickup head on it.

Also with the pickups there is the rare grid heater bolt that melts off and drops into no mans land.

    That was my question too?

Does the 6.7 have sleeves in the cylinders?

You should be able to tell by the ring around the head matting surface.

    Please send pictures.

It would be nice to see the cylinder side of the head and the block/ head matting surface.

If it has sleeves, resleeving would be an option however it would require machining.

@Bustedknuckles what HP tune was on the truck?

C&C can't take anymore power than a delete tune to run correctly.

    It does not have sleeves.

I just bought me a long block last weekend.

I bought the truck used right around Christmas last year.

    Wasn't a month n I started having problems.

Not sure if it was my lead foot or dumb luck or a combination of both.

In my mind I'd always be worried I was gonna break down so I decided to change the engine so maybe it will change my luck with the truck.

Taking the switch on fly knob out an giving it to my wife to hide....LOL.

Now if I can find the time to get it put together an back in my truck id be tickled.
