Wish it was though...
The pete I do drive aint nowheres near that cool lookin.
My Cummins is just a bare bones 3/4 ton 4wd Ram with a regular cab and a manual trans
Good stuff.... Truckers bring it
^^^ That truck Still makes for a dang cool avatar. ^^^
More on the P0542 issue is slightly delayed... Easter Sunday followed by (supposed) massive storms on Monday.
Since my meager one-car garage doesnt fit my truck my work area is outside.
However... Soon as my wife wins the Lotto (and I get my cut) I'll have a BIG shop built.
Still waiting though....

Sorry haven’t got back with y’all been very busy at work, storms have been terrible here, and electric and storms don’t mix well haha.
Next week sometime I’m going to try measuring the amps and see what happens.
I will post back results.
If your lucky it will be Zero, in which case in which case you can measure the resistance of the grid heater relay coil, which hopefully will be infinity.
The only confusing part to me would be why is there no P2609 if there is a malfunction in the ECU side of the grid heater function?
Obviously I'm no mechanic.
Thanks for the follow-up @RamCummins_15

Today, I was planning on testing this when I got back from the store, but my luck truck throws code P2121.
I could not get it to reset.
I finally managed to get it to reset when I unplugged my Ats co-pilot and plugged it back in.
I’m fixing to take the dumb thing off!!
Any suggestions on this one?
I've got a 2011.5 RAM 6.7L with a grid heater delete plate installed and the relay on pass side battery removed.
The supply and return wires that engage the solenoid are currently disconnected in the open air.
I have never got a p0542 CEL until I recently installed MM3 tuning to my truck.
Looking at the Wiring diagram, if I was to connect the 2 small gauge supply and return wires to each other, would it fool the ECM into thinking it's connected to the solenoid and remove the CEL?
If not, what options do I have to remove the CEL without having to reinstall the solenoid?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
If you connect K174 and K974 without the relay you should go from a CEL P0542 code to a CEL P0541 code.
You will need to either reinstall the heater relay or measure the resistance of the relay control circuit and install a resistor.
