144,000 miles - deleted and tuned since 95K
Leveled with 35’s and 20x10 Fuel wheels

I have a love/hate relationship with my truck currently as it’s been a tough year with a bunch of little things happening to it at once it seems.

Back on New Year’s Eve, my alternator burned a hole in my oil filter and caused about 6 quarts of oil to spray all over my engine area and driveway. Then 2 weeks later, my wheel bearing goes out. A couple weeks after that my batteries die on me and had to buy new batteries. About 3 weeks after that and a current issue I’m having is I’m getting a low voltage CEL (P06D3) and I’m losing all throttle when it appears and my transmission line pressure is bouncing all over the place. Planning to make a post about it here with hopes of some assistance before taking it in to get looked at.

Up until the first issue I mentioned, the truck has been flawless since I’ve owned it (Nov 2016) and I’ve just had bad luck lately. Hopefully my luck changes soon with it! Anyways, glad to be here and looking forward to learning some things here!

    P06D3.

I randomly lose throttle every other day or so.

I replaced the accelerator pedal and sensor and thought that fixed it then a few days later it happened again.

Did some more digging around earlier and noticed there was no screw holding the map sensor in place so it was kinda just floating in the hole.

There is a screw holding it there now though.

I hope that was the problem because it’s sketchy driving not knowing if you’re going to make it to your destination or not.

You have a 5V reference problem.

    See attached troubleshooting information.

Measure the 5V signal at the Pedal Position Sensor pin #1 to the ground while unplugging the other sensors listed one at a time.

Also, look for damaged 5V wire possibly shorted to the ground.

    Thank you.

It definitely wasn’t the loose map sensor.

I didn’t make it 10 miles this morning and had no acceleration.

I had both batteries tested, and both are good.

About to start checking the sensors.

Sounds good; being intermittent, the best time to troubleshoot is when it’s acting up.

As my last attachment states, follow and focus on the 5V reference.

I have also attached two diagrams to help you find and identify the wire colors and 5V signal locations at the other sensors.

Good luck, and please keep us posted.

    No luck today.

I checked the sensors, and all seemed fine.

I also unplugged and plugged every connection I could find, and I did, however, notice the plug going into the throttle body was extremely loose, yet for the life of me, I could not get it unplugged.

I messed with it for hours.

I think it very well could be my issue.

    I’ll try some more tomorrow.

    I appreciate your help.

Your trouble code and symptoms do not point towards the throttle body.

Did you have the 5 Volts at the APP sensor pin one with the ignition on?
