    2005 3500 Waste Gate Code

Got this code the other day so I've been reading up and did a little investigation under the hood.

I don't see any corrosion and rubs on the wires.

The truck seems to run fine down the road empty but under a load (had 10, 10' telephone pole (8-10") ) when hitting hills it seems to bog down. It has a edge juice w/a, been running on 0.

Do I replace the waste gate or is there other stuff to check before I start replacing stuff.

Could be a stuck waste-gate, but then again I’m still learning so don’t take my input for actual advice.

What’s the code exactly? Is it throwing an engine code?

If so it could be putting in into limp.

But just my two cents hopefully @DDP ; can chime in.

Most likely a bad fan clutch.

Could be a bad connector or bad FC in general.

Some symptoms are warmer AC, higher temp on temp gauge, FC doesn’t turn on or change speeds when turning AC to full blast from off.

Some other dude posted about this on another forum.

Ended up being a bad connector.

What happens is if you’re hitting WOT or under load, the truck can’t properly cool itself down so it’ll throw the truck into limp.

Get that diagnosed, clear the code, and should be fine.

Thanks I'm also getting 0243 so the fan clutch will be getting replaced.

I noticed there was a chip or 2 miccing from the fan so it will be new too.

    There's 260k on the truck.

I'll get that ordered here this weekend
