    Tony,

If you happen to go with CT, please post up some feedback.

What year truck do you have and manual or auto?

How do you like your current tunes?

If it is a auto are the shift with a locked TCC or have shift flare?

    Re: CT Tuning

I have CT and I'm a little disappointed at the moment.

Since I deleted the EGR the truck smokes like a ******* at cold startup.

    Not a little a lot!

But as soon as I drive it is gone.

There has to be an issue in the tune.

It only does it at high idle.

With the stock turbo, it would open the EGR and preheat the air even tho the EGR was "disabled".

There has to be a way to use 2012 tuning for a cold start since they don't experience these problems.

I'm not the only one with this problem. The guy that installed my tune and mods has another 14+ that has the same issue.

Let's ask @DRD cause that doesn't sound normal.

Any truck with parts missing can smoke a bit on startup when the engine is cold.

Kicking into high idle can make the smoke worse temporarily.

There are lots of things that can contribute to that, but primarily its fuel blend and temperature issues.

You gotta remember it's a diesel!

Remember how a diesel from 20 years ago would run upon a cold startup?

When you strip certain parts of a modern diesel truck, you make it much like an old school Diesel.

As long as it runs smooth and clean once warmed up, all is good.

I agree that there should be a little smoke.

This is mosquito fogger smoke and on high idle it will smoke for 30 minutes or till you drive it.

Doesn't make sense that it smoke that long.

The water temp.will be at 45 Celsius and still smoke.

I really think there is a timing or pulse width issue.

Since the tune was made to run the stock turbo.

I spoke to them and they said the tune was made to accept a turbo swap and that it should be fine.

    Its not.
