    Headlight Switch Issue

So, the headlight switch on my 97 2500 finally smoked itself.

I got a new switch with the connector and wired it in with a 40 amp relay on the black and yellow wire for the headlights to try and help it last longer.

Headlights work now and are a lot brighter too.

The issue now is, as I noticed on my way to work at 4 am, is that my running lights do not come on with the headlights now.

But with the headlights on, they come on when I open the drivers door.

    Any suggestions?

Hmmmmm, guess you will have to drive with the door ajar. LOL

Sounds like it’s wired wrong and your parking lights was connected to the interior door switch some how?

I’ve never heard of this issue before.

Maybe disconnect your 40 amp relay and put everything back the original way it was?
