How long have you had the G56 swap done?

I'm not familiar with the new 4th gens as far as a swap goes.

I can remember when i had 2nd gens and helped friends do swaps that we found not all years of the 2nd gens used the same mounts. 99% the same but was a small change.

Just thinking out loud here, is it possible that after the swap the mount, (again not knowing how the mount is on 4th gens) that its not in the correct setting and this is putting a bind/pinch on the bolts.

Is the crossmember bolts torqued correct and not loose.

Only other thing I could think that would cause that much stress to those bolts is if you had an issue with the engine mounts causing a slight lift which would put I guess a rotating force on that mount. that's all my 2 cents of BS i can think of bud.

Re: Why Would G56 Tranny Mount Bolts Keep Breaking?

The Swap was done when I bought the truck.

I have owned it for 2 years now.

I kept breaking bolts for several months.

I had an oil pump issue that caused the engine to seize.

I replaced the engine and changed the mounts since I was in there.

Still had bolts breaking after the engine and mounts replacement.

I bought and replaced the transmission mount and bolts. I kept having bolts break. I took it to 2 dealerships and a local shop. All replaced the bolts and said they didn't see an issue.

So finally saw on another forum (not sure which one) that some people were drilling the bolt hole all the way through and using longer hardware.

I tried this fix and have not had a bot break since September on 2019.

I was replacing them at least every 2-3 months because they would break.

I do agree that you should trouble shoot the issue and try to find a solution to the problem as far as bad rubber bushings or mounts before doing this.

This can cause a bigger bind in the system if this was designed as a failure point to prevent damage to the Transmission case.

    I'm out of ideas.

I already did motor mounts and tranny mount.
