Thread: Pitched Spacers?

    Pitched Spacers?

I notice that most level kits for a 2014+ ram 2500 list the spacer as pitched and indexed to work with unique coil setup.

if you are trying to retain the unique cool setup wouldn’t you want to space straight and even? If the spacer is just straight it’s just moving the coil bucket down on the frame.

if the spacer is pitched and indexed then it would be altering the coil spring and changing the factory coil spring setup, however most companies say they are indexing and pitching the spacer to retain the factory setup.

is it better to have a straight spacer or indexed?

    Do u have a link?

Every spacer I've ever seen is simply a flat spacer.

The all steel fabricated leveling spacers bolt to the factory upper coil buckets and provide a full 2" of lift to level out the stance of the new 2013 - 2019 RAM heavy duty trucks.

The spacer is pitched to properly match the angle of the factory coil mount and locates the factory rubber isolator for correct coil spring indexing.

I can't see that tiny bit of degree making a bit of difference personally.

Never seen them installed but on my 13 with a 2.5 inch spacer there's no issue with the spring flexing forward at all, so how could it with only a 2 inch spacer?

I seen big lifts like 6 inches where the spring will bow forward but this ain't 6 inches.

I mean I guess it won't hurt anything but my feeling is that it's more of a gimmick than any real world difference.

I've done a fair amount of lifts on my trucks and friends trucks so I do have a point of reference.

    Thanks.

That’s what it seems like, a way to separate from the others to stand out.
