I bought quick disconnects that mount on my batteries.

I run the cable last into the cab and connect my noco's to a surge protector and run an extension cord to the garage.

When I go to drive the truck, I remove the chargers and surge protector while the quick disconnects always stay mounted to my batteries.

Those Quick Disconnects - Are a very smart addition to the system.
I bought them for all the family autos (Batteries)

It may hit the timeout period as well where it will return the device to standby regardless if the battery is charged or not.

True as stated it will take a 2 amp charger a long time to fully change both batteries if the state of charge is very low.

However if used as a maintainer or topping off partially discharged batteries the time will be significantly reduced.

So basically when selecting the amperage of the charger you should take into account the battery capacity, amount of time available to change and the anticipated state of change of the batteries.

I have the one that came with my Camaro that has performed excellent on every vehicle its been connected too.

Nothing fancy, but I'm sure an aftermarket option would be far more cost effective.
