    LiFePO4 (Lithium) battery

Can LiFePO batteries replace the OEM maintenance free batteries in my 2019 Ram 2500 diesel? Has anyone done this? If not why not?

There is going to be a couple of hurdles to clear if you want to run different batteries.

Voltage: need a nominal 12V, keep in mind Ram’s canbus is on the sensitive side.

amp output rating: will need to match or exceed cca.

charging: will need a different charging method to balance the packs.

With some math and general wiring skills, not a hard project. From an economical stand point probably not worth it. Practical stand point also probably not worth it as parts for the charging system would not be off the shelf auto parts.

I would wager you would be a first to try it and if you do post up results.
