    New Tunes?

So I got my MM3 from Road Ready and the truck has run great but towing my aluminum bass boat to the keys I'm seeing over 900° EGT's.

I understand this could be caused by the tune.

Would I be better off getting new tunes from DRD or getting a meth injection system?

    900* is nothing.

    Re: New Tunes?

I guess this requires some clarification. My boat and trailer weigh around 3200 lbs. and I like to stay with the faster traffic. If I get over 85-90 it5 will creep up to 980. This is for hours on end we are talking about. I'm and old mechanic and never bothered to monitor EGT on a gas engine. I have read somewhere that these engines were tested to 1400 Deg. but I don't want to fry my truck. What temp are you comfortable with running for long hauls?

    980* is perfectly fine.

I don't start getting concerned until I see over 1200* sustained, then I just back out the throttle or downshift and let things calm down.

1200-1300 I’d just ease off the throttle and it’ll cool down. 1400+ I’d consider the danger zone.

    Re: New Tunes?

    Thanks for your comments.

I feel much better knowing this.

I thought I was hurting something as my Cummins mechanic buddy told me of damage he has seen from people running them too hot for too long.

He didn't know how hot or long, only the results.
