    To delete or not delete

Hello all.. Been doing a lot of looking online about deleting my ram.. I live in Washington and don't do emissions testing.. Seen on a few other sites about deleting. Some people have stated that its not as necessary to delete a ram from 2012+.. I understand some of the benefits from doing it but after reading about cali and the epa. It has got me thinking is it really needed..

Re: To delete or not delete

I upgraded my spark plugs on my 2018 3500 with 8,000 miles on her and I'm very happy still (24,000).

Voided the warranty possibly but the current advantages and long term reliability I gain, I couldn't be happier.

DRD did wonders for the laggy 68RFE and the 60-90hp gain is wonderful.

It's nice to drive a real truck.

You should do it, you only live once.

Be careful on some of that info you read elsewhere.

What are you planning on doing to your truck?
    What setup?

I primarily use the truck for towing and it sits a lot as I have a company vehicle that I drive.

I bought truck in Dec 19 with 85k on her already.

Was looking at DRD emission tune but he stats not to use it on trucks with more than 50k.

I feel like I'm in a round about and don't know what exit to take so I just keep going in circles.

What type of fuel mileage are you getting?

I just came back from your neck of the woods (Cheyenne) and got terrible mileage towing a 7000 lb John Deere 4320 tractor.

I'm doing 19-20 mpg unloaded going 75-80 mph empty. 90 hp tune

    About 17 mpg highway/city combined

About 15.4 with two snowmobiles on the sled deck to and from the mountain.

4,500 lb truck camper loaded I was seeing about 12-13 avg combined.

I don't have any official data for you but that's what I'm seeing.

    Hey Cooper,

I personally wouldn't do emission compliant tuning. I bet it uses a ton of DEF fluid. Sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. Then you'll still end up deleting your DPF or going back to stock if you have problems.
You can leave your EGR on the truck and just throw a exhaust pipe in where the DPF go's. Really simple to do and you'll have the full benefit of deleting everything. You'll love your truck twice as much if you move forward with DRD. The sound tunes are cool but there really nothing you'll use again after playing with them once or twice so my suggestion is to save your money.

I deleted mine and got rid of everything. Love the way truck runs.

Now I decided I want a new one.

Can't trade in NC without emissions!

So now,I got to sell it in another state and find the truck I want.

I found 3500 single wheel with Aisin limited.

    Sucks I decided too late.

Re: To delete or not delete

I have decided I will delete it and see how it goes.

I messed up 6yrs ago when I bought my dads D-Max which is what i traded in for the new 2016.

I got ride of my 1999 ram 2500 that I had the full banks power pack setup on.

But it still struggled to pull our 21' toy hauler across the mountains.. so I bought the D-Max.

But I'm back in a dodge now and hoping that with the delete it will be as reliable as my 99 was.

The on-board said I was getting 8.6 towing that gooseneck and tractor.

It was almost like I was back in my old 7.3 International.
