    Newbie

Hi guys. Have a 2011 MegaCab Laramie with 135xxx miles.

This is my first diesel but have been around them for a long time. I recently retired from the Air Force after 24 years.

There are a few things that I would like to do to the truck, I do haul a 35’ fifth wheel camper.

I bought a Mini Maxx used off of Facebook marketplace used and tried turning the truck, didn’t go well to say the least.

I ended up with the wrong stock tune and my truck went from having an automatic transmission to thinking it was a manual!

It also bricked the Mini Maxx.

Well ****, thank god that there are parts of the automatic are still mechanically operated.

Took it to the dealer to have the PCM re-flashed to the correct transmission.

No go, the technician said” Man, I don’t know what that tuner did but I can’t undo it. You need a new PCM!”.

I go to the parts counter and they proceeded to tell me $2800, nope not today!

Thank god for eBay, got a “new” PCM for $770 overnight to Alaska.

Plugged it in and all was well in the world once again.

I sill want to tune and lose some “weight” for engine and transmission longevity.

Welcome friend! Sorry you had to go through all that. Tuff lesson for sure. I never trust eBay or amazon etc... purchasing tuners and stuff.
