    2019 6.7L 2500 Ticking Noise. Dealer Can't Diagnose!

    So I’m a very excited, first time owner of a 2019 2500 limited 6.7l.

Drove for a week, less than 500 miles, and began to notice a ticking noise from front of engine.

It only appears after driving on highway and getting temps up.

Once idle for a while it disappears.

Dealer has had for a week now and cannot pinpoint where it’s coming from as they replicate it, but after being at idle for a bit it’s gone.

    Will attach video here.

Thanks for any thoughts or direction to explore on this issue.

Oh yeah, I saw this one, but I feel like mine is different.

It doesn't become more apparent when revving, not audible form inside cab either.

I feel like its some kind of device actuating when it's warming that idle temps and the disables once cooled.

Buddy of mine had the same sound on his Ford ended up being a tag on one of the hoses being sucked in when the fan clutch would engage and hitting the fan but it sounded the same way.

Hope you get it worked out.

Had the same noise on my 19 limited HO, got 14k miles now.

I think its the plastic air block slats which should be closed on cold start.

It has almost gone away completely now. IMHO- Its nothing important.

Thanks for all the tips so far.

    Still with the dealer.

They said Friday they may have narrowed it down and I should hear something today on the verdict.

    We'll see...

Yeah, not the same as my lemon, and I hope no one else falls victim to the same thing.

Your problem sounds like an issue with the belt/pulleys.

Other guys have the same issue I’ve heard.

    Re: 2019 6.7L 2500 Ticking Noise. Dealer Can't Diagnose!

    Got a call yesterday.

Said they think it was EGR.

They downed the truck and opened a "star case" whatever that means.

Then today the service director calls me and gives me a totally different story.

Said they sent an audio clip of the noise to Star but had no indication it was EGR and cannot pin point it at all.

So now I've been lied to by my service rep, been told by my salesman that they'd see about getting me in a different truck, and the director telling me they're clueless and sending audio samples to engineers at Chrysler.

    About to walk away.
