    MM3 Mounting Options

    Hey all,

I have installed my MM3 with a 5inch TBE, EGR and throttle valve delete and everything is running great. I have the MM3 temporarily mounted down by the center console. I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to mount a magnet on the back of the device and use it with a custom made “phone type” mount. I’m not a fan of the suction cup mount and I don’t really like the pillar mount because I don’t want to leave it in the truck all the time. I contacted Dirk from MM3 support and he had no input on this as they have never tried. I’m wondering if the magnet would have any negative effects on the MM3 itself or anything else?

Has anyone tried this or any similar set-up?

I’ll post pictures when I’m all done if anyone is interested.

    Thanks

I mounted mine with a nite Ize and so far haven’t had any problems, but my understanding is to keep it away from the sd card! I mounted the magnet middle lower bottom away from the sd card!

I mounted mine with the magnetic phone mount and it works perfect.

    No issues at all.

I mounted mine in front of the DEF gauge since I know it's always full. LOL.

The wiring comes up from behind.

I would recommend velcro over a magnet. Personally wouldn’t want my SD card anywhere near a magnet.

A menu guide on the MM3 settings would be great!

AK Bob good point about the magnet near SD card.

Been lucky so far, my phone has an SD card and I've been using the Scosche magnet mount for a couple years now.

I tried using the Velcro at first but the MM3 display wiggled too much when pressing the buttons on the screen.
