    Upgrading Questions

So I want to upgrade my turbo on my truck. It’s a 2018 3500 mcsb srw.

I tow my camper all summer long 19k fully loaded. And a 26k gooseneck trailer.

Debating on twins of fleece cheetah or bd screamer.

I already have the 12mm stroker and 60hp injectors with an upgraded stock turbo.

    Just want more power.

I go through the mountains 8 times a year loaded and many more unloaded.

What’s your power goal/hp number if you were to dyno you want to see?

If money isn’t too much concern then I would recommend running compounds. You can’t beat them for all the drivability/power throughout the power band.

Are you wanting stock manifold if you stay with a single?

No I’d be upgrading manifold and going to bov since It’s a manual and roughly 625+.

I’d recommend for compounds stock turbo over a 475. Drivability will be same down low with added power higher in the RPM band and EGTs low when towing.

For a single all you’d need is a 363sxe. You will likely read that 6.7s need a 400 frame. If you were wanting more power and didn’t tow you could spin a 400 frame no problem but the 363 with decent tuning will light about 1500-1600rpm and be like a light switch. 1.00 exhaust housing or .91 would be best for EGTs as well.

second gen swap is a cool manifold to go with if you have the hood up to show off sometimes. The third gen aftermarket manifolds actually flow just about the same and keep drive pressure about 1:1 which is ideal

    I’ve been leaning towards compounds.

What stock turbo would you recommend.

I am looking at upgrading the CP3 and injectors to get closer to what I had previously for towing I’ve noticed that 650ish is great all around.

For towing and daily and being able to turn it up when unhooked is the best.

Because once the trailer is there we use the truck to go kayaking and hiking.

What clutch would you recommend I have a valiar dual disk 3200# now but it will be getting replaced when I do more upgrades.

    Re: Upgrading Questions

I just bought a pusher compound kit, s475.

Not installed yet, also fleece power flow 750 , manton springs, retainers, pushrods, and ddp 90hp injectors, going for about that 650 700 mark as well, the pusher jit is really nice I can't wait to put it in.

16 cummins Laramie longhorn, ccsb, 35x12.5x20 xplora mts ,tis wheels, fully deleted, pusher add a turbo kit, stainless diesel 475 5blade turbo over 63mm VGT delete turbo, manton springs, manton valve bridges, manton pushrods,ARP 625 headstuds, steedspeed t4i manifold , S&S 80% over injectors, thuren rear trackbar, kingspeed billet valve cover, revmax valve body billet plate, CCV reroute, pusher intake horn, thuren 2in level with king 2.5 front and rear, sway bar kit ,track bar and king steering damper. Air bags from airlift. 4" exhaust, fass lift pump,MM3,DRD tunes.pusher coolant reroute.

With the added fuel you currently have you would likely be 650+ with using your current upgraded stock turbo. The factory VGT over a s475 has been known to produce 650+

    Re: Upgrading Questions

    For sure I will.

I'm hopeful it will just run perfectly without having to data log and send back and forth files but I know it will need some dialing in.

That's just the nature of the beast.
