Dealer Programmed somethings, now Grid Heater doesn't Cycle?

Last week I had my truck in for recalls.

They reprogrammed the occupant restraint module, and replaced Brake Transmission Interlock and programmed BCM for it.

They also reprogrammed the ABS module and installed a water pump for recalled one.

Now when I start the truck in cold temps, it does not go thru the diesel pre-heat.

It just instantly starts when I push the start button.

Is this a programming issue, or did they unplug the grid heater when doing the water pump or something?

I know many delete the grid heater all together but mine is still there.

Call your dealership and ask them. They might have.

Do they need to unplug it to do the water pump?

I'm aloa wondering if it would throw a code if so?

The truck doesn't seem to look for it or start weird, it's just that it starts right up.

Indo hear a relay in the dash click 3 times every time I start the truck now which is new.

Since your grid heater was working prior to your recall work I would start with the dealership first.

None of the recalls should have affected the grid heater operation, however they may have accidentally disconnected or damaged your wiring.

When I had my water pump recall they didn’t reconnect the radiator fan and just left the connector dangling against the belt and pulley.

    Please keep us updated.

Meanwhile attached is some information on the Grid Heater Circuit that may help troubleshoot the issue.

I remote started the truck when I left work while standing beside it and it did the whole "diesel preheat in progress" thing before it started.

    Took truck back to dealer.

Tech said it's not throwing any codes and "nothing we programmed would affect that" however they would be happy to try to diagnose it for $159...

    I absolutely just loathe dealerships.

    @DRD any ideas?

Does RAM customer service reps to handle the dealerships like Ford does?

    Can contact them if so.
