    Rear Shock Position

I'm looking at info online trying to find the size of the nut on the top of my shock and noticed that most of the information I see, one of the rear shocks is on the back side of the axle but mine isn't.

Any reason why that might be? It's a 2014 Ram 2500 Laramie Limited.

The leaf spring trucks up to 2013 have them mounted in the rear. I believe the coil spring trucks 2014 and later all mount like yours.

    That makes sense!

Unfortunately, I've been watching rear install videos just to prep myself, and I forgot that my rear shocks are aftermarket and have no idea the top nut size.

I know it's a quick replacement, but I've made it a habit to look up videos beforehand anyway just to step through what I think I already know to make sure I actually know it LOL.
