    How Much Rear Sag?

2018 2500 SRW, we just got a new 36' bumper pull camper, tongue weight is just over 1000lbs.

We don't pick it up till spring, so I'm not in a big hurry.

I'm curious how much sag is going to be present, and do I need supplemental air bags?

We will have a distribution hitch also.

    Thanks Craig.

I believe you can't throw about 2500lbs in the bed. So you're shy of maxing it out. In my opinion between that and using a WDH you won't be riding low. You'll squat, but not much.

    How Much Rear Sag?

As long as you have the factory suspension setup (not leveled or lifted) you’ll probably end up about level when hitched if using a good weight distribution set up.

I have a Blue Ox sway pro and can recommend it highly if you haven’t already purchased one.

Send a picture once you get er hooked up!

You could use weight stabilizer hitch set up.

I have about the same tongue weight with ours and mine drops about 1.5 to 2" when hooked up with the hitch.

    Shouldn't be too bad.

Here's my truck pulling my Coachmen 3379 which is about 37 feet overall.

    About 1100 lb tongue weight.

Truck has 2 inch front level kit.

My 3500 with a leveling kit looks similar with my 33 footer hooked up, all 5 people, and a bed full of coolers, bikes, firewood, and whatever else didn't go in the camper.

I added airbags recently to overcome this.

Even with a weight distribution hitch it squats the truck too much for my taste.

Try it out with the WDH first before you spring for bags.

I wouldn't tow one of these huge sails very far without sway control and weight distribution.

In fact, I think the manual requires it over a certain weight for "bumper pull" applications.

Hello, I tow heavy equipment regularly sometimes up to 16500 with the trailer.

My cheapest and easiest solution was to install Sumo Springs.

They take the sag and the bounce out of the rear springs.

    NO SAG.

Anytime you have SAG it means the front tires have reduced traction and your alignment/braking is also being affected.

I have installed the AirLift Wireless1 on my 2500 Ram and on my 3500, I lowered the front end 1.5" to eliminate any sag.

Buy the Bulletproof Hitches drop with the dual stabilizer bars that extend up to the frame rails outside the Spare for the ultimate in control.
