Thanks for the response. This morning it was 39 degrees ambient temp. My truck never went above 163 degrees during my commute and that was getting in it a couple times. Average temp was 159/160. Checked my codes when I got to work and had the p0128

Then I would go ahead and change it out. Make sure to get a good one, pay the money because it is not really a job you want to do multiple times. The biggest part is bleeding out the air. Make sure the heat is set to full hot both before and after you change the thermostat. But make sure the clutch fan is not stuck on and there is just no code. These truck will set codes but have other problems just because. No rhym or rythem.

I have a few questions before hand.

What rated thermostat do I get?

I’d like to go with a factory Cummins stat that is in the truck.

To confirm it’s not the fan, do I just make sure the fan is not on when the truck is on at first startup when truck is cool?

190 degrees should be the stock temp.

And yes, if you hear what sounds like a jet engine from the from of the truck the fan is on.

It is loud when it kicks in on full.
