Dumping that kind of money into a 2018 already?

I guess you have no warranty since you deleted.

I know you have to get the truck back up but there has to be a better way.

For 12K you could swap in a Aisin? Or Manual? Probably 3 times over.

There is a reason I have always run manual trans.....they just work.

Pushed the truck way to hard about 4K miles ago and ended up pushing the rear main seal off the crank and rear cam cap away from the block, causing an oil leak. Dealership picked it up and took care of it but the tech reported it and my truck has since been labeled a deleted truck in national history so no more warranty. No big deal. I can make all my own repairs, parts add up but that’s what happens when you delete a brand new truck.

I’ve seen what happens to an Aisin when it’s behind a deleted truck. It’s worse than a 68.

    I’ll pass on the manual..

I’ve learned with pushing a the limits of the truck that the “buy once, cry once” method seems to work best. If you have to spend more up front but it will last, then it is what it is.

Keep us posted on the results, and your experience with the built 68. At 16k miles I'm going to take a wild guess that your accumulator plate warped or blew off.... or you warped/cracked the channel plate.

Out of curiosity, what did you do to cause the crank seal to walk?

Fellow Cummins guy pulled up next to me at a light, revved multiple times so I said F it, cranked the DRD tunes up to 5 (200HP) and boost launched off the line, needless to say the tires stayed hooked and boost gauge maxed at the 39.82psi.

Got home after that let it idle and shut it down.

Couple mornings later I could see my trail from parking.

Took it to the dealer and they did me one last favor and replaced the rear main and cam cap under warranty.

Previous data according to the tech said I was in the 42psi range.

    Update*

I got my trans back and installed it last week. Have put about 400 miles on it and it is drastically different.

Still within the break-in period on miles, but even just cruising it around it feels like a whole new animal.

Installed the rev max thermal bypass and had tunes updated to change line pressure to 250psi.

Trans stays cooler between deeper pan and bypass installed.

I would highly recommend the next-gen transmissions to others.

    Sure looks pretty.

What does it feel like compared to the stock 68RFE tuned transmission when your daily driving?

Firm fast shifts and no flare like my stock 68RFE was even with tuning.
