Cold air intake or save for the 2nd gen turbo swap?

Good morning! I have a 2004.5 Ram 3500. 5.9 Cummins. I am in need of replacing my air filter, but I am thinking of buying a cold air intake instead of just replacing the stock air filter. I would really like to do a 2nd gen turbo swap in the future, with that being said I don't want to buy a cold air intake if the 2nd gen swap is better? My question to you guys is, should I upgrade my stock air intake and turbo or wait and do the 2nd gen turbo swap? I use it for some daily driving and towing occasionally. Not looking for more power, just a reliable, strong, best fuel economy possible. Give me your 2 cents.

mid the second gen swap is in your future I’d save the money for that as it should come with everything you need. No need on spending the money twice.

you would get more benefit from
    the 2nd gen swap.

Thank you! I was think the swap is the way to go. Just wanted to make sure. So many different options especially depending on what the individual wants and needs. When I do the swap, was thinking of going up one size turbo? Want it to spool up sooner then stock.

The factory air cleaner box is actually a very good design.

The cold air intake set ups out there are not what they are cracked up to be.

    Keep your stock set up.
