AK, any insight on to getting this stupid oil return line off the turbo without taking the motor mount off? The reason I ask, I can't seem to break the motor mounts loose to get that silver shield out of the way of the drain line.

Ok, no sooner did I post it, I got the last nut on oil return. So it's completely disconnected and my last task is getting it to get the studs to clear the exhaust manifold so I can actually pull it out of its hole. In the PDF you sent, there was a mention on pg3 #8 of another document outlining removing the mounts. Do you happen to have that?

I really appreciate y'all's help with this and helping me learn this truck. Someone told me this wasn't a hard install. I beg to differ at this point. LOL.

That's good because I have no clue how to do it. In fact, not even sure mine has the shield.

Just a heads up, thanks to AK Bob I was able to get my install done in time!

After 2.5 days of trying to get it apart, it only took a couple of hours to get it all back together.

With no extra parts and the 10mm socket accounted for! LOL.

She's purring and boosting just as she should now.

    Thanks again to all.

I'm almost in the same place.

I'm stuck getting the lower coolant line off and the oil drain.

I have the turbo nuts all loose.

I'm watching a Canadian kid do this on an "off-road" truck with a deleted EGR cooler, and he says to just put a pry bar in there and get that heat shield out of the way.

    Maybe that's the best.

I think I'll try it. I probably need to lift the turbo back up a bit.

The one stud on the turbo is long, though.

If all else fails, I'll cut it off with a Sawzall.

    It's a core, after all.

Not sure yet about the install.

    Re: 6.7 Turbo Replacement

I ended up taking advice and lifting the engine with a jack.

    Just the RH Motor mount.

A heat shield is attached to the engine mount, and the; mount needs to come off to move it.

I bent it down and drove it down more with a hammer after removed.

Happy so far with the swap.

    Time will tell the truth.

Thanks to @Saltwaterdiesel for the advice.
