    Preventing Death Wobble Question(s)

I have used the search function and didn't really find what I was looking for.

I had my oil changed and tires rotated today and received a call that my ball joints were starting to create abnormal wear on my front tires.

    Questions:

    1. What can I do to verify that this is true, besides looking at "abnormal" tread wear?
    2. Is this the beginning of the dreaded death wobble?
    3. What other components do i need to consider for replacement at this point and how do I check these additional items for excessive wear for replacement?
    4. What are some good brands that wont break the bank but are an improvement over stock.

Truck info: 2015 Ram 2500, Diesel (deleted), 70,000 miles, everything else is stock on the truck.

    Thanks for guidance!

I put on the Sinister Diesel adjustable track bar and steering box support kit when my truck was new.

    Still have no issues.

X2 - adjustable track bar and steering box brace... However -

    Beware of the upsale!

Rub your hand over your tires if your tires are wearing more on the inside or outside this could be an alignment issue. If the back side of your treds are wearing MORE than the front of the treds, this could be ball joints but chances are you would feel a worn ball joint via steering wheel feedback.

If your able, Jack up one side so the tire is off the ground. Press on the top and bottom side of the tire, (pushing toward the truck) and feel for any slop or movement. Then you can put your hand at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and do the same thing, pushing slightly in on the side of the tire feeling for free play. Some folks use a pry bar and block of wood and lift up from the bottom. The free play will be evident.

If in fact your bail joints are bad, there are a few on the market with a lifetime warranty .

I hope this helps, please keep us posted.

    Thanks,
