    Gremlin Still Exist

    So my gremlin still exist.

I keep getting code P06D3 Sensor reference voltage 5 circuit low.

What I have discovered is when pulling a load mainly up hill the truck will sputter and loose power and throw the code and check engine light comes on.

What I have noticed is that the rpm's are getting down to about 1500 rpm and the truck should be automatically down shifting.

If I manually shift gears and keep the rpm's up 1800 plus the truck works great. Also, I feel my fuel mileage is suffering.

So here is my thoughts on this. I have already changed the crank and cam sensor's, and am wondering if the MAP and Mass Air Flow sensor's are bad.

The truck starts easy and runs fine, I just feel I should be getting better fuel mileage (about 16 mpg actual).

Another thought is that a solenoid in the tranny (Asisn) is bad.

    Any input would be appreciated.

I didn't see what year your truck is, signature is not showing up.

    How are your batteries?

It is highly recommended to replace them both at the same time.

That sensor reference voltage code can pop up from many causes but usually it means a sensor circuit is funky somewhere under the hood. I would look into the MAP sensor next.

    Thanks Ray,

I just looked outside at my truck and the gauge lights are on and the radio and menu screens are flashing off and on.......arrrrg.

The truck is off and the key is out.

    Re: Gremlin Still Exist

So here is the latest update.

I found another ground on the frame by the left front tire and cleaned it.

I also put in a new MAP sensor and the truck seems to be fixed.

The truck still does not like doing 55 mph towing.

It is right between gears at 1500 rpm.

If I manually down shift to 5th gear it is fine.

Is there a reason it doesn't like 1500 rpm?
