I currently have a 2012 Ram 3500 Outdoorsman and I some help.
I keep getting code P014C and no one can figure out why.
The O2 sensors have been replaced (the forward one several times), the MAF sensor replaced, EGR checked for operation, new fuel filter, and the computer reflashed twice. I’ve also had the turbo replaced due to the variable vanes locking up. Even though I got a ridiculous discount on the turbo replacement because of a dealership error I don’t want this new one to crap out. I’ve had multiple shops look at this vehicle and everyone tells me to replace the sensor but can’t tell me why they keep failing.
The only thing I can see is the sensor is covered in soot and a lot of it. I asked about the amount of soot on the sensor and I’m being told it’s “normal” which I don’t believe for a second because I’ll put a new sensor in and a couple months later the code is back and the sensor is covered.
I’d love to delete this truck but it’s still under a power train warranty so I don’t want to do anything that’d void it.
Other than deleting the truck is there anything that can be causing this? I’ve asked for the injectors to be checked and no one agrees with that...saying it can’t be an injector because there’s no codes (another thing I don’t believe).
I’m not seeing /feeling any leaks with the exhaust so I’m pretty much at a loss.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
